ISLAND TRIP TO DYRÖN
On 2 August you can join us for a boat trip to the island of Dyrön. Here you will find small bathing places, beautiful hiking trails over the rocks and authentic small marinas. Meeting point is the bus stop 'Rökan' right at the foot of the big Instö bridge. The trip takes about 20 minutes. (The boat also runs on other days).

HICKORY GOLF
Andi is looking forward to playing a round of good old fashioned hickory golf with all the golfers on the morning of thursday 3.8. This will take place at the nearby Lycke Golf Club.

LINDY HOP CRASH COURSE
So that you can all swing with us, there will be a dance lesson with Lisa and Sämi on Thursday 3.8.23 at Rådhus on Marstrand. From 15:30 you can learn the basics of Lindy Hop or refresh your dance skills. Afterwards (around 16:45) you can quench your thirst just around the corner at Johan's Krog.

FAREWELL COFFE
A little goodbye takes place on 5.8 at Kajen: The best coffee on the island from the Kaffeepojkarna will be brewed especially for us. For those who don't like coffee there will be juice and more.
PARTY
We meet in front of Societetshuset, Marstrand on Friday 4.8.2023 at 4 pm.
Marstrand is a windy island, so it is good to have a jacket, scarf or jumper for the evening. Sunset is at 9:30pm and we think this is a good time to get some fresh air and put the kids to bed if the weather is nice….
We have had a few enquiries about our dress code: Vintage because Lindy Hop was the dance of the 20s – 40s…. If you have something to hand – wonderful, but you are also welcome to celebrate with us dressed festively.

We are delighted over everyone who takes on the long travel to Sweden to celebrate with us. It is therefore your greatest gift to us if you join us for the celebration, share joy and dance with us.

TRAVEL
& STAY
We know it is a lot to ask to travel to Sweden for celebrating with us. Therefore we want to support you in finding the best possibility for you. We looked into options for staying longer to spend your holiday around Göteborg and we will soon post some more informations of what to do around! Marstrand is a place well known for sailing. Several little Islands invite you to discover them – there are scenic hike trails, the sea to swim in, horse riding, two golfcourses close by, a summer theatre and fairy tale like woods.
The small archipelago island of Marstrand is located in the municipality of Kungälv in the south of Bohuslän. From Gothenburg it takes only 45 Minutes by car to reach the island. Already from the ferry pier in Koön you have a picture-postcard view of Marstrand – of Hamngatan on the shore with its wooden houses and of Carlsten Fortress towering above everything. By boat you can easily discover more islands in the archipelago eg Åstol with a fish smokery to visit.

There are some small houses (Stuga) with cooking options for 2-4 people. We have reserved some of them already one week prior to the wedding. Please get in touch with us, if this is of interest to you. Of course you can also sleep in your tent or rent a campervan and drive here. it is very kids friendly offers a playground and it is close to the sea. Booking opens in January.
To the ferry to Marstrand island it takes you approximately 15 Minutes by foot.

Havshotellet is on Koön – the Island just before Marstrand. It has a Spa and is with the Ferry and a short walk only around 10 Minutes away from Societetshuset. There are some family rooms as well as many different room types. Booking is already possible directly through their site.
For those of you who like history the BnB Carlsten’s Fästning on Marstrand Island offers rooms with 2-6 beds. To get there you need to walk uphill for approximately 15 Minutes.

We are in contact with some local landlords. And pre booked some apartements. Please get in touch with us if this is of interest to you.
Around 20 Minutes by car from Marstrand, there is Tofta Manor (Herrgard). Here you can enjoy golfing or horse riding as well as some scenic hiking trails. There is also a great summer theater to check out =).

TRANSPORTATION
By Car
CONSIDER THE FERRY
By Car you can travel to Kiel (approx 10 hour drive) and take the Ferry to Göteborg. The Ferry leaves in the evening and the next morning you’ll arrive in Göteborg. From there it is around 45 Minutes drive to Marstrand.
(There is a chance of a car night train, but bookings will only open in wintertime).

By Train
VIA HAMBURG AND COPENHAGEN
You can travel entirely by public transportation to Marstrand. the most efficient journey is via night train to Hamburg, then via Kopenhagen and Malmö to Göteborg. It takes around 22 Hours.
By Plane
GÖTEBORG LANDVETTER AIRPORT
Swiss has direct flights from Zurich to Göteborg. From Göteborg Landvetter Airport it takes around 45 Minutes by bus to go to Marstrand (First to Göteborg Ericsson Terminal and then change the bus to Marstrand). Check the bus schedule here:
